Was Impact Wrestling Cancelled Because Of Vince Russo? - #MMBTNA
Spike TV's decision not to renew TNA's Impact Wrestling contract came just a few days after Spike found out Russo was still working with TNA.
Spike was not happy when they found out Russo was still working for TNA. While there's speculation that this could have been the "straw that broke the camel's back," there was still no new deal in place 2 weeks ago, before they found out Russo still had ties to TNA.
It's said that Russo's involvement with TNA played a big factor in Spike not renewing Impact but they likely would not have renewed anyway.
When the news of Russo working with TNA was recently confirmed, there were a lot of people in TNA worried because of what's happening now.

What TNA Officials Are Telling Talent About Spike Situation - #MMBTNA
TNA has sent e-mails to their talents saying the reports of Spike TV not renewing Impact Wrestling are false. It was said on the recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that TNA officials were playing it the same they did when the sale rumors started last year. They are apparently expecting good news and will update the wrestlers when they have it.
Regarding how much money TNA has lost over the years, an exact figure is not known but as of 3 years ago, they had lost $45 million. They slowed some of their losses after that but have still been losing money.

WWE Producer Comments On Spike TV Canceling TNA - #MMBTNA
WWE producer Billy Kidman tweeted the following about TNA's Impact Wrestling being canceled by Spike TV:
"Can we at least wait to see how this tna stuff plays out before everyone starts telling us who we need. And even then, let's not. Not meant in a mean spirited way. I just don't want to talk stuff until we see how it plays out. Another tv deal means nobody is available. And I personally hope they get a deal. There are not many places to work in the wrestling business these days. In ring or out of ring. Let's be honest, they are another place for guys to work and that is a good thing. But they are not competition. #NoOffense"
