Former WWE Superstar Shane "Hurricane" Helms tweeted some advice to the released WWE talents:

"To newly released talents, embrace your freedom. The Indy scene is on FIRE and is in fact home to the best wrestling in the world."

TNA Releases Matt Hardy

TNA Wrestling announced Saturday on their official website that Matt Hardy has been released from its roster due to his DWI arrest earlier in the day.

Shane Helms Involved In DUI Investigation

Former WWE superstar Shane Helms -- aka "The Hurricane" -- is at the center of a drunk driving investigation after a BRUTAL motorcycle crash on Thursday that left him and his girlfriend broken and battered. 


According to the police report obtained a witness told cops Helms was driving home from a restaurant in Smithfield, North Carolina around 9:15 PM -- with his GF on the bike -- when he blew through a stop sign, lost control and "drove straight through the metal chain link fence."

Cops say one of the witnesses told officers he was hanging out with Helms at a local restaurant minutes before the crash and said he "was sure" Helms had been drinking there.

Helms and his GF were transported to a local hospital where they were treated for multiple broken bones and other injuries.

Law enforcement sources tell us officers took a blood sample from Helms at the hospital to check his blood alcohol level at the time of the crash ... but it could take several months to get the results back.

So far, we're told an investigation is underway ... but no charges have been filed against Helms. 

Velvet Sky On Twitter Taking Donations for Shane Helms

TNA Knockout Velvet Sky is putting together a charity campaign for Gregory Shane Helms after the former WWE Superstar and his girlfriend Karen were involved in a serious motorcycle accident Thursday night. Helms remains hospitalized after suffering a broken leg and ankle, as well as other injuries. He is therefore unable to wrestle, which was his only source of income.

Former WWE Superstar Involved In Motorcycle Crash

Former WWE star Shane Helms and his girlfriend are currently hospitalized after being involved in a motorcycle accident last night in North Carolina.


Big Daddy Donnie of Tha O Show reports that Helms and his girlfriend had to be airlifted to a hospital and in addition to Helms suffering a broken leg and broken ankle, his nose is also broken, and his jaw may have been dislocated. Helms has received over 200 stitches. Donnie also reports that his girlfriend Karen broke her neck.
