Roy Oswalt Signs With Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers on Tuesday signed the free agent right-hander, according to The Dallas Morning News.

As expected, the Phillies have declined the 2012 options for pitchers Brad Lidge and Roy Oswalt, the team announced in a press release. Both pitchers are now eligible to file for free agency.

When the Phillies put together their starting rotation last winter, the one pitcher few people worried about was righthander Roy Oswalt. Sure, he had back issues during his career and missed a few starts here and there, but the one thing that was easy to count on was that every five days Oswalt would take the ball.
