Brian Wilson Refuses To Shave Beard To Play For Yankees - #MMBSports
With Mariano Rivera calling it a career and GM Brian Cashman saying he’s “not sure” if setup man David Robertson is ready for the ninth inning, the Yankees figure to be in the market for a closer this winter. Joe Nathan and Grant Balfour are free agents, among others, but we can cross former Giants closer Brian Wilson off the list. Why? THE BEARD!

WATCH: Ichiro collects 4,000th hit #Yankees
In the first inning of Wednesday night's Blue Jays-Yankees game, Yanks outfielder Ichiro Suzuki grounded a single through the the left side and in doing so notched his 4,000th career hit across the U.S. and Japanese major leagues.
Ichiro, of course, joins Pete Rose and Ty Cobb as the lone players to achieve the feat, although Rose and Cobb compiled all of their hits in the U.S. major leagues.
Coming into Wednesday night's game, the 39-year-old Ichiro was batting .274/.308/.362 on the season with 18 steals in 21 attempts.
Coincidentally, the hit you see above was Ichiro's 2,722nd of his MLB career, which moved him past Lou Gehrig and into 59th place on the all-time list.

Jay-Z raps ‘Scott Boras, you over baby’ In Song Mentioning Robinson Cano
Just when you thought hip-hop had trotted out every beef possible, we've got a new one: Rap mogul vs. super agent. Only the agent in question is a 60-year-old white dude who most certainly knows more about wrapping presents than a rapping presence.

Minnesota lawmakers want Lou Gehrig's medical records
Some Minnesota lawmakers hope to force the release of Lou Gehrig's medical records, saying they might provide insight into whether the Yankees star died of the disease that came to take his name or whether repetitive head trauma played some kind of role.

Fan Who Caught Jeter's 3,000 Hit Ball May Have To Pay Up To $13,000 In Taxes
Christian Lopez might end up wishing he kept that baseball after all. Lopez became more than a footnote to the spectacle of Derek Jeter getting his 3,000th hiton Saturday at Yankee Stadium by returning the milestone baseball to the New York Yankeesshortstop rather than cash it in for a likely six-figure payday. That touched off a debate still raging among fans days later: Would you have given the ball back or sold it to the highest bidder for a payday that was rumored as high as $250,000?

New York Yankees Pay Tribute To Macho Man During Game
The WWE wasn’t the only group to pay tribute to “Macho Man” Randy Savage following his death on Friday in a one-car crash in Florida.
The New York Yankees paid homage by showing an image of the Macho Man during Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the Mets.
Says Wrestleview.com: “They do a 24-Hour Fitness fan cam where fans stand up and flex. They were playing Village People's [song] ‘Macho Man.’”
“Towards the end,” continues ProWrestling.net, “Savage's picture popped up on the main big video screen which said 'In Memory Of' with his born/death years listed. It went by pretty quick so I was unfortunately not able to snap a picture, but it was a nice little tribute to him.”

MLB Groupie Plans To Release Book Of Her Sex Stories With Players, Including Chase Utley
I cannot verify this story, but I was told about it from Terez Owens which seems to have some interesting news. This is what he was told...
Athlete groupies are an interesting bunch…I recently got some info on a book that is being shopped around by someone who had sex with MLB superstars …The book includes sex stories about Chase Utley when he was a rookie, Kevin Millwood, Pat Burrell and she also touches on the Mike Lieberthal gay rumors. Some of the other players that she had sex with and gives all the dirty details about include Greg Maddux, Randy Johnson, Mike Hampton, Bernie Williams, Tim Hudson and Jeff Francouer just to name a few..She’s also going to spill what she knows about drug abuse, steroids, alcohol and sex in the league. She has been an insider for 20 years. She said Randy Johnson’s nickname does not suit him and he should go by “Small Unit” … If Greg Maddux could pitch as good as he had sex (specifically oral) that he would have had over 600 wins instead of 300, and that Chase Utley (Chase me Quickly) was the worst lay she ever had. For more details Click Read More.

Eagles, Phillies Top GQ's Worst Fans In America List
Well, here we go again. Another national survey, another shot at Philadelphia sports fans.
GQ is the latest, and yes, the tired refrain of booing Santa Claus is mentioned. And as usual, the methodology is suspect, and there are tons of stereotypes. Maybe image is everything.
