Jake The Snake Roberts Issues Statement Before Surgery; Thanks Fans

As noted earlier, 2014 WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous tumor behind his knee this Tuesday. He released the following statement today:

Jake "The Snake" Roberts has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 2014 WWE Hall of Fame inductee revealed to TMZ.com that he has a cancerous tumor behind his knee which is slowly expanding into his muscle. Last month, he noticed a tumor behind his knee the size of a half dollar so he had it tested. On Friday, doctors informed him that the test came back positive for cancer.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts becomes immortal as he becomes apart of the WWE Hall of Fame. It was announced tonight on WWE RAW that Jake Roberts would be inducted in the class of 2014. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place the night before Wrestlemania at the New Orleans Arena.

Jake The Snake Roberts Talks About Buying TNA

Wrestling legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts recently spoke to Steve & The Scum of WGD Weekly.

The possibility of buying TNA Wrestling: “…I want to run an Indigogo and raise the money to buy that son of a bitch and do it right. Not to be in competition with Vince, but to do wrestling the way I liked it. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t. But, now I hear the guy from Smashing Pumpkins is snatching it, so maybe I should just buy the band Smashing Pumpkins and go on with my life and start singing…”

Jake "The Snake" Roberts posted a video from his November 16th appearance in Rome, Georgia, which can be seen above. Roberts has been working with Diamond Dallas Page in hopes of a full time wrestling return.
