Dodgers Owner Frank McCourt To Sue Major League Baseball
MLB Commissioner Bud Selig told Dodgers owner Frank McCourt on Wednesday he will appoint a MLB representative in a few days to oversee all aspects of the business and day-to-day operations of the club. However, Frank McCourt appeared to signal his intent to challenge Selig’s decision and I’m being told he will sue MLB for control of the team. “Major League Baseball sets strict financial guidelines which all 30 teams must follow. The Dodgers are in compliance with these guidelines,” McCourt said in a statement issued late Wednesday night. “On this basis, it is hard to understand the Commissioner’s action.” My tipster tells me McCourt has already retained the services of law firm Sullivan & Cromwell…The Dodgers dwindling attendance and fan beating was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I think McCourt is finished in Dodgertown.

MLB Takes Control Of LA Dodgers Day To Day Operations
Major League Baseball (MLB), in an extraordinary move, plans to take control of the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles Dodgers because of mounting concern over the franchise's financial plight.
Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, who is locked in a bitter divorce battle that many expect will result in that storied team's sale, reportedly took a personal loan from Fox Broadcasting Company last week to cover the Dodgers' payroll.
