Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion and current IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles turned down a significant deal to enter the TNA Hall of Fame and wrestle a match at this month's Slammiversary pay-per-view because his priorities are with Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling right now.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that a multi-date deal was discussed several months ago, which would have had Styles wrestle at the Slammiversary and Bound For Glory pay-per-views, plus the Hall of Fame induction.

AJ Styles Talks How Much Money He Turned Down from TNA, Is He Making More with NJPW? - #MMBTNA
AJ Styles appeared on Wrestling Observer Radio last week and noted that while working with New Japan Pro Wrestling, he's already made more in 2014 than he would have for all of 2014 on the deal that TNA offered him to stay.
He added that he will come close to what he made with TNA in 2013. Style's previous TNA deal saw him bring in around $350,000 but the deal he turned down would have ended up at just over $200,000.

AJ Styles Talks About Returning To Indies & More
Ed Boston from DTRTwrestling.com recently interviewed AJ Styles yesterday. Here are some highlights:
Returning to independent wrestling: The greatest thing about the independents is there's a lot of passion in that locker room, there's a lot of passion a lot of times with that promoter. They just have these expectations and these dreams that are so high that it's just a positive thing when you're there and it's fun to be a part of that.
