With 10 stores in Virginia, Wegmans grocery chain is facing a boycott from loyal customers over carrying wines from Trump Winery. The National Organization For Women is pressuring Wegmans to stop selling Trump Winery products. More groups are also on board with the boycott which is in the infant stages.
Joe Natale from Wegmans said "Our role as a retailer is to offer choices to our customers" and went on to say that Wegmans decides on those products based on how well they sell.
“Individual shoppers who feel strongly about an issue can demonstrate their convictions by refusing to buy a product,” Natale said. “When enough people do the same, and sales of a product drop precipitously, we stop selling that product in favor of one that’s in greater demand.”
