The Philadelphia Soul begin the 2013 season
with a re-match of ArenaBowl XXV when they travel to Phoenix to play the
Arizona Rattlers tonight on CBS Sports Network. The Soul (15-3) who were
considered a favorite going into ArenaBowl were defeated by the Rattlers (13-5)
72-54.
The Soul are 1-1 in ArenaBowl appearances both
being made in New Orleans, but with a new head coach in Clint Dolezel they look
to defend their American Conference Championship on their way to another league
title.
Clint Dolezel was promoted to head coach after
the sudden resignation of coach Dough Plank, but Dolezel knows his way around an
arena football field. Having played in the league since 1995, Dolezel made the transition
to coach in 2009. He has a career record of 8-8 but with an ArenaBowl
championship under his belt as a member of Grand Rapids Rampage, Dolezel looks
position to pick up where the Soul left off last season.
