It seems like Jay-Z is looking to make the year 2013 a year of major moves. Wednesday, the rapper announced that he has signed super producer Timbaland to Roc Nation. He broke the news on his “Life & Times” blog, posting a picture with the two old friends and collaborators chilling in the studio. The caption read, “Roc Nation welcomes TImbaland to the family.”
The news comes on the heals of Justin Timberlake’s comeback, when he released his Timbaland produced single “Suit & Tie.” The song featured Jay-Z on the track.
Jay-Z and Timbaland have a long history of making big hits, from 1998’s “Jigga What, Jigga Who” to 2009’s “Off That” featuring Drake. Timbaland has also collaborated with Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Janet Jackson and Usher over his 20-year career. There’s no doubt that this represents a foreshadowing of great things to come. (MTV)
