Justin Bieber was threatened with a ban from the Philippines after posting
photoshopped pictures making fun of Manny Pacquiao getting knocked out by Juan
Manuel Marquez. The two images mocked Pacquiao, a beloved boxer and politician
in his native Philippines, which didn't amuse a few congressmen.
"Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat."
One photo shows Pacquiao face down in the ring with Simba from "The Lion King" on top the boxer, just like in the Disney film, which was accompanied with the caption "Dad, wake up." The second photo showed Pacquiao mid-fall in front of Michael Jackson leaning in the "Smooth Criminal" video.
The Philippine Congress also demanded a public apology from Bieber from his "distasteful comments ... lest he be declared persona non grata," suggesting he would be banned from the country unless he apologized.
