The match was announced after WWE revised its event card for the show. John Cena was originally scheduled to face Punk at the show, but company officials told KAIT-TV Region 8 that he will be unable to appear after he under went surgery last month to remove bone chips in his elbow. At the beginning of the show, WWE will announce that refunds are available to anyone who bought a ticket to see Cena.
Also announced for the event is a World Heavyweight Championship Match between Sheamus and Big Show. Kane, Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay and WWE Divas are also scheduled to appear.
