The Phillies and Hunter Pence avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $10.4 million contract Friday.
The deal is at the halfway point between the $11.8 million Pence was seeking through arbitration and the $9 million the Phillies offered.
Pence is not eligible for free agency until after the 2013 season.
With Pence having signed, the Phillies have cleared up all their potential salary arbitration cases for 2012.
