Flyers Jagr Out 7 to 10 Games To Groin Injury

Jaromir Jagr played just 7:09 in Monday's Winter Classic before settling onto the bench to watch his teammates fight their way to a 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers.

After the game, he admitted to being injured and told reporters he removed himself from the game. He said he'd been speared in the calf during Thursday's game in Pittsburgh against the Penguins. But he never mentioned anything about groin trouble.

As it turns out, Jagr has a mild left groin strain, general manager Paul Holmgren said Tuesday. He will miss seven to 10 games while he recovers.

Jagr stayed on the bench for the remainder of the Winter Classic, saying he wanted to be with his teammates for the experience. After the game, Holmgren said Jagr was day to day.
