WWE Classics On Demand Ending Service January 1st, 2012

PWInsider.com has confirmed that WWE Classics On Demand, WWE's subscription video on demand television service, is being completely shutdown on January 1, 2012. The move was announced to company staffers today.

The move was designed to bolster the strength of the WWE Network when it debuts in April.

WWE has yet to make an official announcement to fans about the service being discontinued, although some cable providers have begun informing subscribers.

WWE 24/7 Classics looks to be ending on March 31st, based on what certain providers have been told. Apparently WWE first notified providers that it would end on January 1st, 2012 but then realized there were existing contracts with some companies so they had to extend it until the end of March. Depending on the contracts, Classics will stop being available to different providers at various times over the next few months.
