Another Rumored Flyers Winter Classic Jersey Surfaces

The date is set, the ticket prices are set, the only thing that hasn’t been announced about the Winter Classic is the attire. But, multiple sources have indicated that the jersey pictured above is what the Flyers will be wearing on Jan. 2 against the New York Rangers.

The image first appeared on message boards at the end of September, before Chris Pronger was announced as the team’s captain and Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere were announced as the assistants. That explains why Claude Giroux has the “A” on his jersey. Because it had been so long since they saw it, the sources were not able to 100-percent confirm that this is the actual design, but they indicated that these threads are likely to be what will be announced as the official jerseys.
DC Visual Arts is the company that came up with the design. They are, however, the same company that came up with the concept that was produced and purchased by many fans, but Philly Sports Daily dot com confirmed that those are false.
Word from the Flyers is that the jerseys will be announced “soon,” but no official date has been set. A source said that the delay in the announcement was caused by Reebok, who will produce the authentic jerseys once they are officially unveiled.
Below is the full mock-up from DC Visual Arts which also includes a Rangers concept. No word on the legitimacy of the New York jersey, but indications are that this is what the Flyers will be wearing at Citizens Bank Park.
