Phillies Select Larry Greene with the 39th Pick in the 2011 MLB Draft

The Phillies selected outfielder Larry Greene from Berrien High School in Georgia with the 39th pick in the 2011 MLB draft.

Greene (6-1, 230 pounds) was touted as one of the most powerful hitters in this year's draft class. He was named a 2010 AFLAC All-American and a 2011 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American.

The Phillies obtained the pick as compensation for losing Jayson Werth to the Nationals in free agency.
